My favourite ever phone was the HTC G1 mainly because of the keyboard and this looks potentially even better February 5, 2018 Reply ab3339 it seemed to be running 5 year old version of android, thats what it seemed from the icons/ui. February 6, 2018 Reply Faust The Only downside I find is the call side, you have to close the screen, it would have been so much better to be able to flip the back of the phone on the keyboard. Pull the shell to unlock the screen, and then move the screen back part to lay on the keyboard. https://ibb.co/mBja3x February 7, 2018 Reply Farajaraf Birth of modular phone's in reality. Am I the only one who's noticed that? February 7, 2018 Reply Jyuzou Look at the size of this thing! AND it has full-sized arrow keys, something you rarely see anymore on a modern laptop! February 9, 2018 Reply 宮本ひかる Only if it runs Windows 10 or Linux, this could a PDA, this is a communicator equivalent in today Edit: oh yeah, it runs Linux February 9, 2018 Reply emTom I feel the same way about this as I felt about the GPD devices…I WANT one, it looks cool, then again, it would sit on the shelf after a week because I would not use it :/ February 9, 2018 Reply Cringey Doggo's BS With Linux it sounds like a good option for programmers. February 10, 2018 Reply JaySee5 Why would you need a backlight when the screen is right there to light it? February 11, 2018 Reply mdredheadguy1979 Oh, I like this!! And it doesn't sound too expensive. I may have to look into it. February 12, 2018 Reply tetravalent My zodiac sign is the Gemini o.o February 13, 2018 Reply John Exzequiel Melchor Will it available here in UAE once released? I would love to have that for my blogging 🙂 February 13, 2018 Reply Seth Setiadha It's nice. I like it. But the keyboard makes it look very 90s. What would be ideal is like a surface phone. So take a surface pro, and scale it down to 6" as well as the type keyboard cover February 14, 2018 Reply jim munsw don't put it inside yr jeans back pocket! it will be crushed…… 😉 February 15, 2018 Reply HoLDoN4Sec 300$? mediatek processor?yeah…. its not worth it, not as a phone and not as a "tablet" lol February 15, 2018 Reply Simos Katsiaris well, they are not mechanical, no surprises about the keyboard February 16, 2018 Reply LostandAlive It seems good and all… but in my opinion is should be able to run windows. February 17, 2018 Reply Theo Hallenius FKNG finally manufacturers realize people actually need physical keyboard, and not bluetooth keyboard cases. February 18, 2018 Reply Eduard Bulov sadly, they don't think in advance, it's 2018, not 2016. the bezel-less screen on this would make such a big difference. I would even consider buying one, now it looks outdated already. ;/ February 20, 2018 Reply Raavana Naan This is sooo awesome February 20, 2018 Reply Reg3e I have a Desktop PC, Ultrabook and a Smartphone. All I want is to merge my Ultrabook and Smartphone together into a device that support cellular capability (call & sms), and support for Windows x86 programs. February 20, 2018 Reply Jeremy Andrews If smartphones had been like this, I wouldn't have spent the past decade developing a reputation as a laptop-toting smartphone hater. LOL. People have been telling me for years that I need to just accept the way things have gone, that I need to just be okay with touchscreen-only, that this is the future… but I just don't understand how I can be okay with it, how this is supposed to be good enough or how I'm supposed to consider gimped text input methods a reasonable trade off for a bigger screen. People irritate me all the time by insisting they can type faster on a touchscreen than on a keyboard, but I've never seen anyone prove to me that they can type 80wpm on a touchscreen. I feel like prior to about 2006, I generally liked and understood technology, and ever since 2007, I've been struggling to understand why people liked the iPhone, and failing to anticipate how things would change. The only semi-modern devices I've felt comfortable with other than conventional PCs and laptops are the DS, 3DS, and Wii U. Stylus-based touchscreens with physical buttons. Nintendo probably came the closest of any company, I think, to maintaining the direction I thought technology should go in before Apple came in and changed things. I mean, to be honest, it's even getting harder for me to navigate modern websites sometimes because they rely on icons and visual cues rather than words. I've noticed that it's also harder to find written information in general, and almost everything is a video these days. It's like I click on something and expect it to be an article I can skim through, and I end up annoyed because it's a video instead, and I have to watch a lot of filler and wait for it to load up. I just really dislike and fail to understand everything about the modern society Apple has built. Others appreciate it, but I appreciate nothing about it. February 20, 2018 Reply Noone Cares woah.. this is exactly what u've been looking for.. like a tablet or laptop in phone form factor.. beautiful, you can bet i'll be getting one. February 20, 2018 Reply dʒeɪms should have shown off the linux abilities. arm linux is pretty dank. February 21, 2018 Reply Михаил Генералов getting it as soon as this is out February 21, 2018 Reply America Is the best these things need to die already February 21, 2018 Reply JustAnotherAnnoyingScifiCharacter also 500usd? No. Pick up a small bluetooth keyboard from Logitec instead. k480 is my favorite for tablet and phone and pc, 30usd average February 22, 2018 Reply orenji12341 I think it's really good mix between phone and PC! Especially when you connect a mouse February 23, 2018 Reply B Shah Gemini PDA is now in full production February 23, 2018 Reply Jay_Slash_DRM This is kool and all, but if you guys really want a portable computer, why not just get a GPD WIN 2?? February 24, 2018 Reply Mewskie * they need to remove those side bessels February 24, 2018 Reply television and cheese Very very cool, the keyboard looks so good, very happy that they are not going to go for a silly flat backlit keyboard, the one I see here looks excellent. The only issue I see is THERE'S NO TRACKPOINT 🙁 Also mediatek is much better than people give it credit, although it would be cool to see some even more powerful chips like Rockchip cpus February 24, 2018 Reply Didier Merette Dufresne meh….. Meh…..Meh….. Wait it can boot on Linux ? HOLY F** YEAH ! February 26, 2018 Reply Jorgen Sandstrom Dream concept I wished for and still are in 2018! Hope some more will do something like this with latest hardware in beast mode. February 26, 2018 Reply RED LINEAGE they make this phone more beautiful and put dual screen at the front also, also boobs sensor February 26, 2018 Reply Aditya Krishna Malhotra 555,555 February 27, 2018 Reply Karas Akatsuki Hmmmm….not bad as concepts go, but I can’t help but think it’s a bit bulky, not something I want in my pocket, and the fact that you have to flip it to get to the screen, also not fond of that February 28, 2018 Reply John Frazier I would really love to see the Linux version running Visual Code, Node.js, and MongoDB for a pocketable development device. February 28, 2018 Reply Gabriele Orioli I always loved my psion 5 mx and if Icould buy this, I would. This is so similar to the old psion PDAs, even if it does not feature the slide-out keyboard and the touch stylus. February 28, 2018 Reply silverberet I'd love an Xperia X1 (win mobile) form factor. March 1, 2018 Reply Le Oo Oooh.. if only nokia n900/n950 can be revived by HMD.. it will be awesome 🙂 March 1, 2018 Reply Anubhav Roy We need a Windows version to be more productive March 2, 2018 Reply Luis Fernandez I think the gpd pocket is better for productivity and stuff while looking 10x better, only downside is the price and no cellphone network….. March 3, 2018 Reply MtotheM The fact that they have choosen to remove some of the keys on the right side, means i won't be able to type on it with my localization, and this applies to most non-english layouts. March 3, 2018 Reply Colin Thomas I want it March 4, 2018 Reply kent leonhart I'm glad I subscribed to this channel. The only one I've seen covering stuff like this. Everyone seems to cover the same shit. The PDA-phone is interesting but too bad it sounds DOA especially since they built it around for the keyboard but the keyboard lacks backlight and has a mushy touch to it in which I'm assuming a poor kind of membrane keyboard used(?). March 4, 2018 Reply Alex Simmons “I call it Fun-sized.” Niche of Black Mirror S4 E6 March 4, 2018 Reply Z. Eros 3:27 So, will we get that "full review" any time soon? I NEED to see it before I buy one, 'Coz with each day since I saw this little beauty my patience grows shorter and shorter. March 5, 2018 Reply Ant Man my cheap chromebook does all that March 6, 2018 Reply Ham Solo The only problem is that the keyboard is somewhat too small for two handed use. March 7, 2018 Reply The Deceiver GTA March 7, 2018 Reply Astearon I just need the keyboard as a phone cover! March 7, 2018 Reply Bohdan Trotsenko I use Samsung Chromebook Pro for the purpose. March 8, 2018 Reply D Johnson I wish android kept the keyboard. The Droid 1 was still my favorite phone. March 9, 2018 Reply Sadnehs "You can load Linux"OH AWESOME "Mediatek processor"Oh…. nevermind…. March 9, 2018 Reply FGCyang Jus get a phone stand and a Bluetooth keyboard. Btw the screen is still too small for proper desktop work. March 9, 2018 Reply Saxton Hale I like it. Though I'd never use the phone. March 10, 2018 Reply Qt Animu Thanks, but I don't want it. ARM SoC probably means it has signed binary blobs on it which will most likely form a security risk down the road. March 10, 2018 Reply dustojnik hummer If it didnt use a mediatek chipset…. March 10, 2018 Reply N2tech It stirs the 90's and early 2000's nerd in me but we have moved past attached physical keyboards. It's just not practical with the tiny screen and aging OS. March 11, 2018 Reply Grunchy I got mine, the keyboard is terrible. I have 2 stuck keys, 2 crooked keys, and numerous sticky keys. The funny thing is they give you a zillion keyboard settings, and it totally doesn't work: my US keyboard version is supposed to give @ when you press shift-2, instead it only comes up with ". JUNK. March 11, 2018 Reply Mongoose170 Amazing device…. March 11, 2018 Reply Abie Antillon ….. Creators…..*cough with baby hands. March 11, 2018 Reply treiz Will wait for version running windows 10 March 12, 2018 Reply Ethan Hunt all it needs is the flex of having it as a PDA like it is and the phone side(reguler droid) like the one u see in nokia E-7 March 12, 2018 Reply YeahYeahItsJustin Oooof I want it. Reminds me of my old O2 XDA Exec. March 13, 2018 Reply M Rede Android is cancer, though. March 13, 2018 Reply yungsovl I feel bad for anyone who invested in this lmao March 14, 2018 Reply Bongso Kusuma The keyboard ugly tho. Need to upgrade the aesthetic March 14, 2018 Reply Mario Gámez A physical keyboard 😍 March 16, 2018 Reply Mr. X PDA is useless for now March 17, 2018 Reply Matthew Shea Everytime I hear someone complain that a keyboard needs a backlight, I lose a little respect for them. March 17, 2018 Reply incredibil45 Srsly, an android device with a keyboard… Just buy a gpd pocket if you wanna play the "portable computer" gimmick March 17, 2018 Reply Commentator541 Sorry but Mac Book kills it. March 18, 2018 Reply Eternal Rest I WANT! March 18, 2018 Reply TheBitFox This would be cool with a current gen SnapDragon/Kirin/Exynos and a swapable keyboard/gamebad module. March 19, 2018 Reply SAKAE Music I would say the Nokia N900 is reborn. March 21, 2018 Reply Arthur Ludwiczak I think it is pretty impressive. And it's ability to turn into small Linux machine is a great option! No back-light mechanical ibm m style keyboard? Are you kidding me? 😉 I hope they will get a great success and I will be able to buy one of their devices from a Vodafone or EE. I love the concept however I bought a new phone few weeks ago. Next year then! March 21, 2018 Reply Hulkk Hogannn With 4g version it's possíble to make calls and send/receive SMS from sim card like a mobile phone? March 23, 2018 Reply Dorian Stanojevic Am I the only one that the phone strongly reminds of the leaked Surface Phone patents by Microsoft March 23, 2018 Reply jay_615 oo i want for runescape March 24, 2018 Reply RaineMan213 You should check out the GPD Pocket. March 24, 2018 Reply Igor Schmidlapp Perfect for on-call IT support staff, use one of the Linux distros that it runs, add SSH and VPN, and you're good to go… March 27, 2018 Reply Michael Jin Very keep. Wish it had a screen on the outside cover for making calls or notifications April 7, 2018 Reply Stephen I love it, where do I sign up for one :] April 13, 2018 Reply Ronie Guieb WTF KEYBOARD NO BACKLIGHT! April 20, 2018 Reply S G This is a 2018?! What version of android is it running it looks super old May 7, 2018 Reply B Shah The latest version of the Gemini has a much better keyboard. I compared the latest Gemini with one from batch #1. June 2, 2018 Reply xXSuperReaperXx xXsuper ReaperXx Does it come with windows 10? June 5, 2018 Reply Sir Kuang Can you play fortnite on it June 11, 2018 Reply lapinus Nice little device, but gpd's win and pocket lineups are more interesting and appealing to me September 2, 2018 Reply drakonevil they forgot the MOTOROLA MILESTONE September 15, 2018 Reply Khandakar Istiak Ikram Blackberry key2 is better than this device September 20, 2018 Reply ApexMike This is missing; 1) A language like OPL and a proper SDK for it. These people are ignoring one of the main reasons for Psion's success – it gave people the opportunity to play and they loved it. An entire industry sprang up around this. Companies like Yellow Software may gone now, but they existed as a result of this aspect of Psion. 2) At least one STANDARD MICRO USB! FFS, don't these people understand what being without the right connector means in real life? "I've got my PDA, but it isn't charged because I don't have USB C." 3) A reasonable price. £600 has been found by Apple and Samsung to be OK for their offerings, but this isn't anywhere near as slick! I love Psions, I have a forum on them and I have Series 3 (a,c,mx), 5mx and Organiser II XP & CM. But this doesn't have enough to differentiate it from what is out there already. Basically, you have a so-so smartphone from last year connected to and cased with a height quality keyboard. Yes, it makes writing easier, but £600!? This might sell at the £399 mark for the top-of-the-line model, but I think we are £200 away from success here. Probably best to get one while you can, if you can afford it. Donations please! October 15, 2018 Reply Zaki Clemente Wish it was windows instead. Feels like I was clickbaited. November 8, 2018 Reply Mumtaz Awan I want to buy in Pakistan help me December 29, 2018 Reply John Ross Android os? Pass April 7, 2019 Reply yes? NO!
