Dylan's talent was in writing, not singing or even playing a guitar, and he should have had the humanity to find a capable lead singer (or just written poetry) rather than inflicting his auditory pain on others. Further, you claim that Pet Sounds influenced Sgt Peppers, and yet Brian Wilson himself admitted that he began to write Pet Sounds immediately after listening to Rubber Soul … so who influenced who here? Compared to Sgt Peppers, Pet Sounds is a lot of bleating. October 5, 2019 Reply Vic Lagina This is spinal tap October 5, 2019 Reply Frank Phillips So, the album that was on the charts for far longer than any other, comes in second? Alrighty. The album that everyone who bought it at the time, went on to form their own bands???? Hum??? Not important??? Didn't influence music??? Just asking… October 9, 2019 Reply Pablo Bruise I hit a lot of likes when someone had a slightly better list in the comments. The first album I ever bought with my own money was The Doors. I think it should have got an honorable mention. It has a long version of Light My Fire, when I don't know if anyone had ever done a long version of the song. Nearly every song is pretty good and somewhat different. There's also another extremely long song on it. To some extent Morrison had a writing talent shown also seen in his poetry. The strength of his voice & the specialness of the lyrics are important. Never trust someone who doesn't like Bob Dylan?! Sorry, but Bob Dylan has a very annoying singing voice. So it is not a trust issue but just because not everybody likes Bob Dylan's annoying singing voice. It sounds very wining and not as if it is his real singing voice but a created singing voice.
